Job Overview:
The Lead Pickleball Ambassador is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility, with a strong focus on delivering an exceptional player experience. This role includes managing part-time "Ambassador" staff, scheduling, and ensuring smooth operations across the facility. The Lead Ambassador will create and implement strategies to enhance the overall player experience and foster a welcoming environment for both new and experienced players.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Staff Management:
  • Recruit, train, and manage part-time "Ambassador" staff, ensuring they align with the facility’s mission to provide the best possible player experience.
  • Set clear objectives and goals for Ambassadors, regularly reviewing performance.
  • Develop schedules for Ambassadors to ensure appropriate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
  • Provide ongoing support and development opportunities for staff to improve service quality.
  • Operations & Scheduling:
  • Oversee court scheduling, ensuring optimal use of the facility and smooth transitions between bookings, tournaments, and open play sessions.
  • Ensure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked with necessary equipment.
  • Handle player registration, payments, and other administrative tasks related to facility operations.
  • Player Experience:
  • Ensure that players are provided with a welcoming and enjoyable environment from entry to exit.
  • Actively seek feedback from players and staff to continually improve the experience. Create and promote special events, tournaments, clinics, and other programs to increase player engagement.
  • Facility Oversight:
  • Manage day-to-day facility operations, including safety, security, and maintenance. Work with vendors and contractors as needed to maintain high facility standards. Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Marketing & Community Engagement:
  • Promote the facility and its offerings through local community outreach and social media platforms.
  • Work with community organizations and clubs to foster relationships and increase facility usage.
Qualifications:

  • Previous experience managing staff, ideally in a recreational or sports facility.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of pickleball or a willingness to learn the sport.
  • Familiarity with scheduling software and facility management tools is a plus.
Preferred Skills:

  • Customer service experience, especially in a sports or recreational environment.
  • Experience in event planning or program development.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
